The ocean washes over part of Hog Island in 2018. The barrier island is part of The Nature Conservancy’s Virginia Coastal Reserve.
Old Forests.
Belt Woods in Prince George County, Maryland. Only 40 acres but it hasn’t been cut for more than 150 years. It is classified old growth because it has sustained its original ecosystem and supports migrating bird species.
Landscape.
